Datacenter Administration
From Consultancy.EdVoncken.NET
Datacenters were traditionally viewed as a managed facility, containing lots of rackmounted servers. Today's approach is a more holistic one: viewing the datacenter as a huge virtual machine providing networking, storage and computing resources.
My approach towards system configuration is based on my former experience as a software engineer: essentially, I treat Unix configuration files as I would source code. This also means that I use Version Control Systems to manage these configuration files.
